JUST IN: Northern Christian, Muslim Leaders Adopt Consensus Candidate For 2023 Presidential Election

The Forum of Christian and Muslim Political Leaders from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, have chosen the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Presidential candidate as the consensus candidate for the 2023 election.

The decision was made in Abuja on Friday at the Atiku Abubakar Hall of the Shehu Musa Yaradua Centre by leaders and delegates from all over the north, including religious leaders, women, and youth organizations.

The forum adopted the report of the IRS technical committee, which was led by former House minority leader Mohammed Kumalia and Nunge Mele, SAN.

It will be recalled that the Northern Christian and Muslim Leaders Forum established a committee on October 8 to recommend a pan-Nigerian platform for the 2023 presidential election.

The resolution was contained in a communique signed by Mukhari Shagari and D.D. Sheni, a former deputy governor of Sokoto State and minister of Water Resources during President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
