Twelve people died Monday afternoon in an auto crash along the Kaduna – Abuja road.
Kaduna Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Hafiz Mohammed confirmed the death on Tuesday.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the accident involved a lone Toyota Hiace carrying 18 passengers.
The crash resulted in the injury of six other occupants of the bus.
A tyre burst was identified as the cause. The vehicle was on its way to Zaria in Kaduna.
The FRSC regularly cautions drivers against over-speeding and long-distance trips with expired/unsound tyres.
