Nigeria @61: We Are Still A Dependant Nation – Jude Imagwe

Let me join millions of Nigerians in commemorating a historic day that defined our country’s identity.

A day that gave us our identity, and a day that all Nigerians, regardless of socioeconomic class, are excited of. Yes, we may not have arrived at our desired destination according to every rating, but we have definitely left, where we began.
As a result, I am proud of the accomplishments we have made, notably the fact that we have succeeded in keeping ourselves together over the preceding 61 years and, most significantly, the continuation of democratic rule.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians.
Regardless of our issues, poor leadership, and lack of human capital development, we nevertheless stand tall as a nation and as citizens or national level. There is still reason to be optimistic about the country.

Let me state unequivocally that our President requires all Nigerians’ prayers and support. I am more than certain that things can work based on my personal experience with specific institutions in Nigeria during the last two weeks. We, the citizenry, can make that happen if we are devoted to and dedicated to our daily schedules.

I pray for President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governors of our 36 States of the Federation, Members of the National and State Houses of Assembly, the Judiciary Arm of Government, and all those charged with moving Nigeria forward. May God continue to give you the knowledge and grace you need to lead the country forward.

Finally, for Nigeria to achieve greatness, all citizens, particularly those in the public sector and public service, must prioritize Nigeria.
Let me express my gratitude to our Armed Forces and all paramilitary for their unwavering devotion and sacrifices in the defense of the Nigerian state, and may God continue to grant everlasting peace to all our men and women who have perished in the service of our country.

Nigeria, may God continue to bless you.
Happy 61st Anniversary of Independence!

Comrade Jude Gabriel, IMAGWE. MON
