Recalling the state of Eleme Local government Area, before Chief OLLOR took over as Eleme Local government Council Chairman, there was high level of kidnap, robbery,cult clashes whereby scaring potential investors from the area.
Addressing only the manifestations of insecurity without tackling the drivers is akin to merely cutting off the tail of a dangerous reptile while keeping intact it’s head and the rest of the body.
Chief Obarillomate OLLOR, tactically dislodged all criminal hide outs in the area, something previous administrations couldn’t venture into.
Recently the Rivers State, Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka summoned stakeholders from Etche, Emouha, Ikwere, Omuma, Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City Local government Area’s of Rivers State.
The meeting was attended by Local government Chairmen, traditional rulers, Youth Leaders and Vigilante groups from the aforementioned Local government Area’s. Focusing on the high level of insecurity in these areas, and the role of stakeholders in the realization of peace and stability for the sake of progress.
There have been relative peace in the area, business owners, workers and traders from Aba, Oyigbo, Akwa ibom etc, come in and out of Eleme without fear of being hurt.
