Panic In Ondo Community As gunmen Abduct Family of 5

Kidnappers have abducted a family of five from Ajowa Akoko in Akoko Northwest local government area of Ondo, Nigerian cable news online has gathered.

It was gathered that the victims were on their way back to Abuja, after the Easter holiday, when they were kidnapped between Ondo and kogi states on Sunday.

The victims, Mr. Ibrahim Olusa, a native of Daja Ajowa and his wife and children were abducted at gun point between Ajowa Akoko and Ayere in kogi state, and have since been taken to captivity.

Report says this has brought tension, apprehension and anxiety on residents of the town.

A Family source revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the family, demanding a ten million naira ransom for the victims to be released.

A resident and immediate past chairman of Ajowa Akoko community council, Mr. Ajayi Bakare blamed the Abduction and other robbery cases on the deplorable state of the Road, Under kogi state.

Bakare appealed to government to rehabilitate the road so that free flow of vehicles will be made possible.

Efforts to speak with Okeagbe Akoko divisional Police officer (DPO) Mr. Olu Akinwande on this incident proved abortive.
