A 5-year-old girl, Hanifa has reportedly been killed by her private teacher in Kano after kidnaping her and demanding a ransom of N6million.
Narrating the ugly incident in a post seen Truthlive.net on Twitter, a journalist @Bulama Bukarti who resides in the north said the accused has confessed to carrying out the heinous act led the police to the shallow grave where he buried her body.
According to the suspect, he decided to kill her because she recognized him adding that he poisoned her and buried her in a shallow grave from which the police recovered her body.
Reacting to the incident, Bukarti who expressed concern over the safety of school children due to the the recent hike in insecurity across the country described the gruesome murder of the 5 years Hanifa as an “appalling tragedy that shows the rot in our country”.
“If kids are not safe with their teachers, where can they be? There are beasts in every society who can only be deterred by sheer force of law. When policing and law enforcement break down, tragedies become the norm, Bukarti added.
“This monster must the brought the justice quickly and transparently. My thoughts and prayers are with Hanifa’s family. One can’t begin to imagine what they must be going through, but it must be horrible time for them. May Allah give them solace & replace her with what is better.”
Since the incident, Nigerians have taken to the micro-blogging platform to demand quick Justice while praying for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for God to grant child’s family the fortitude to bear the loss.
