Real Reason President Tinubu Met With El-Rufai In Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu held a crucial meeting with former governors Nyesom Wike and Nasir El-Rufai at the Abuja presidential villa on Wednesday, August 9.

The focus of their discussion was centered on El-Rufai’s delayed confirmation as a ministerial nominee.

Despite Tinubu nominating both Wike and El-Rufai for ministerial positions, only Wike has been confirmed by the Senate so far.

The Senate’s delay in confirming El-Rufai is attributed to an alleged security report.

Both Wike and El-Rufai arrived separately at the State House, with Wike’s arrival at 1:40 p.m. and El-Rufai’s at around 2 p.m.

Insider sources suggest that the presidency is actively working to secure the Senate’s confirmation for El-Rufai.

President Tinubu had initially submitted 28 ministerial nominees to the Red Chamber on July 27 and later added 19 more names on July 31, along with a replacement for a withdrawn nominee.

The meeting between Tinubu, Wike, and El-Rufai underscores the ongoing efforts to ensure the confirmation of all ministerial nominees.
