Orji Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip, has explained why the Southeast deserves the Senate presidency despite giving the All Progressives Congress few votes.
Recall that during the presidential election, President-elect Bola Tinubu received the fewest votes in the Southeast.
After meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Kalu spoke to State House correspondents yesterday.
According to him, zoning the Senate presidency to the region will bring peace and unity to the table.
He stated that the unity of the country should take precedence over the number of votes cast.
