A suspect, Ifeanyi Obed (41), has refuted allegations of his involvement in the murder of a University of Benin (Uniben) student, Kelvin Erhahon Agboma, during a cult-related altercation in Edo State.
Obed was presented by the Edo State Police Command among other suspects apprehended for diverse crimes in the state.
Addressing the media, Obed stated that despite being a member of the Aye cult group, he had no knowledge of the killing of the Uniben student.
He said, “I am not a Uniben student, I only work as a community boy in Isior community.
“I was arrested in a place where I went to meet a friend who was drinking and the police took me to the Ugbowo Division and from there to the state command.
“I am a member of the Aye confraternity, but about the killing of the Uniben student, I don’t know anything about it.”
