Time To Present Our Best Eleven In Esan Land, By Pharez Okpere

The pursuit of good governance in Esan land should focus on encouraging trustworthy and competent electoral candidates committed to serving in the public’s interest. As we all know, disenchantment with the political system, especially among the rapidly growing youth population, makes the challenge increasingly urgent.

Today, Esan land is faced with a myriad of problems and one of the most pressing is youth unemployment, this is what is fuelling the never ending divide between the political class and the teeming youth population in Esan land.

The absence of sustainable and high-quality jobs makes it such that the ever-increasing youth population is unable to join the labour force. This has ripple effects from idle youths, to a reduction in IGR for our state and local governments in Esan.

This presents a myriad of challenges for both the public and private sectors as we think of the different ways to harness the demographic dividends and the main issues around how to address the supply constraints of labour and ensuring employability remain abound on Esan land.

There have not been no concerted effort to address the problems young people are faced with in Esan land, over the years there have been little or no programs designed to train and empower our young people. It is so bad that many of our youths have been forced to go into various unconventional ways to scrap for a living. It is so bad that in most part of Esan land today it is almost impossible to get a trained workforce.

To change the economic fortunes of Esan land we must first redirect our political leadership, we must as a matter of urgency present our very best eleven at all levels of political leadership in Esan land.

We must promote leaders with the clear intent and vision to impact the lives of our people and bring the needed economic transformation to Esan land. The days of sharing tomato grinding mechines should be over for good.

It is time to set the ball rolling, it is time to kick start the reinvigoration of our political process. We all have a role to play in this new journey.

God bless Esan land.
God bless Edo State.
