Why I Called Obaseki My Friend Despite Political Difference – Oshiomhole

Former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and the current Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, may have political differences, but Oshiomhole emphasizes their continued friendship.

Speaking at the 2023 Alaghodaro Summit, Oshiomhole thanked Obaseki for hosting the event and invited him, highlighting the importance of treating each other respectfully despite differing opinions.

“Being friends doesn’t mean we can’t disagree or have different opinions, but we must treat ourselves with love and care,” Oshiomhole stated. He urged leaders to approach differences without creating an atmosphere of conflict, emphasizing that diverse options should not lead to hostility.

Oshiomhole acknowledged the significance of the Office of the Governor, expressing high regard for both the office and Obaseki himself.

While acknowledging their political divergence, Oshiomhole pointed out the collective commitment to the citizens of Edo State, transcending political affiliations.

The Alaghodaro Summit, an annual event marking Governor Obaseki’s anniversary in office, serves as a platform to showcase the state’s progress in becoming an investment hub. Oshiomhole’s affirmation of friendship despite political variances contributes to the narrative of fostering unity and collaboration for the state’s greater good.
