2 Injured As Hausa/Yoruba Traders Clash In Osun


Two persons have been seriously injured during a clash between Hausa and Yoruba traders at Owode Ede market in Ede North Local Government Development Area of Osun state.

It was gathered that crisis brewed when a pepper seller, Hausa man was instructed to shift his wheelbarrow from the entrance of a Yoruba man and he refused.

According to sources, attempt by Yoruba man whose entrance was blocked to shift the wheelbarrow by force, eventually led to fracas as the Hausa man prevented him to shift the wheelbarrow.


The Hausa man, in the process, allegedly stabbed the Yoruba man and melee broke.

It was gathered that two persons whose identities could not be ascertained, sustained injuries during the fight.

The Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode, said the matter has been settled and urged people to go about their businesses without fear.
