It was a sea of heads yesterday at the Valentine Asuen Campaign Organisation Secretariat along Sakponba Road, venue of the Edo South Senatorial Campaign Council inauguration. It was a gathering of Edo State APC Leaders, political eggheads and bigwigs of the Party across the Seven Local Government Area that Makes Edo South Senatorial District.
In his opening address, the Chairman of Edo State APC, Col. David Imuse (Rtd) Thanked all present for standing by the Party and charged everyone to work assiduously towards securing victory for the party in 2023 general elections saying that 2023 is a gateway to 2024 Edo State Gubernatorial Election hence the 2023 Elections is a most win across board. He appealed to all to drop all grievances and work in unity for the success of the Party. He concluded by inaugurating the Senatorial Campaign Council under the Directorship of Dr Wilson Ogieva.
The Edo South Senatorial Candidate, Hon Valentine Owamagbe Asuen in his brief remark expressed his gratitude to the Leadership of the Party for holding the party in unity and Improved Cohesion. He gave special appreciation to the vibrant and politically savvy Edo South Youths for standing by him before, during and after the primaries and charged them to see this as their project and enjoined them to join him on this journey. The Senatorial hopeful said that we stand on the threshold of a political rebirth, a definitive shift and of history in the making and that this is the beginning of new things to come. He concluded by thanking all nominated into the Senatorial Campaign Council saying that he is confident that they would all bring their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their duties that will lead to victory for the party at the Polls.
The Edo South APC Senatorial Campaign Council is made up of over Four Hundred Party Faithfuls nominated from across the Seven Local Government Area of Edo South divided under Sixteen Directorates/Committees that was designed to create a robust and an all inclusive Campaign that will reach the trenches, nooks and crannies of Edo South Senatorial District.
A cross section of Notable State, Senatorial and Local Government Leaders were present at the inauguration ceremony amongst whom are the State Party Chairman, Col. David Imuse, State Secretary; Engr Lawrence Okah, The Edo South Senatorial Leader; Hon Benson Edosonwam, Former APC Gubernatorial Candidate; Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu, Former deputy Governor; Hon Pius Egberanmen Odubu, Mega leader Gentleman Amengor, House of Representatives Candidate for Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency, Chief Dr. Billy Osawaru. Other Leaders present includes, Hon Patrick Obahiagbon, Hon Washington Osifo, Hon Razaq Bello Osagie, Hon Betsy Okoebor; State Woman Leader, Party Chairmen for the Seven Local Governments and their Secretaries, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly Candidates, Senatorial and Local government Youths and Wormen Leaders and a host of others too numerous to mention.
Highpoint of the inauguration ceremony is the issuance of appointments letters to the leadership and Members of the various constituted committees/Campaign directorates. The Campaign Council as inaugurated is expected to hit the ground running.
