Chairman of Caretaker Committee for Lagos State Parks Administration, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina-Ashade, yesterday drummed up support for the presidential candidate of All Progressives Party (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and re-election of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Adeshina-Ashade noted that Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu were excellent administrators, and urged members of dissolved unions and affiliates under Lagos State Parks Administration to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) and work for the duo’s victories.
The caretaker chair, who is the Oniba of Iba in Alimosho Local Government Area (LGA), spoke at a stakeholders’ meeting in Akesan, Alimosho.
He said: “Nigeria is in need of a passionate leader with unmatched competence, capacity, dexterity and political clout to lead the nation out of the woods to El Dorado.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu possesses all aforementioned qualities, hence the need for us to drum up support for him and his victory, in 2023.”
He implored his members to encourage their family and loved ones to support Sanwo Olu’s re-election bid.
“Lagos State enjoys relative peace and its economy is adjudged the fifth best in Africa and one of the economic leading lights of Africa under his watch.
“What else can we ask for than to allow such a leader to continue to leverage and excel on the good legacy laid down since 1999?”, Oba Adeshina-Ashade said.
The chairman informed that on October 30, which is the second anniversary of his coronation as Oniba of Iba, there would be a mega rally for Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu.
He announced the readmission of union members suspended indefinitely or expelled by the last administration.
The chairman urged them to forgive, tolerate and love one another for peace, tranquillity and progress, adding that his leadership would not entertain acts capable of tarnishing the union’s image and that of Lagos State in line with the THEMES agenda.
He clarified that reduction in the levies announced last week applied to those paying above N20,000 as there would be no reason for any leader to compel those whose category fell below the N20,000 cap to level up
