BENIN – A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, as well as other leaders of the party, today were present at the stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Benin, the Edo State capital.
The APC leaders, who called for unity among party members, had leaders and party executives from the entire state in attendance.
The Edo State Chairman of the party ably led by Col. David Imuse (rtd) in his remark appreciated party leaders for their unflinching support. “The party is greatly energized and repositioned for victory”, he added.
“We conducted membership revalidation across the 18 local government areas, had our Ad-hoc delegates participate in the Presidential, Senate, House or Reps and State assembly primaries which was totally rancour free”, he said.
“Out of 22 litigations, 12 have been sorted while 10 are outstanding, our resolve is to ensure that these little challenges are nipped before September 2022”, Imuse exhused.
Imused called on all aggrieved members to withdraw their existing cases in court and admonished party leaders to go back to their respective localities to also help mend burnt fences.
The Edo APC chairman also said: “Whether Obaseki decides to postpone local government election, the party will fully participate in the rescheduled polls in January 2023”.
A former two time governor and National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, in his remarks, called on APC members in Edo State to close ranks and work harmoniously with the leadership of the party in the state and other levels in the overall interest of the party.
Oshiomhole said the party is saddled with the sole aim of delivering it’s Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and all elective positions in the state but that this wouldn’t be possible in a rancorous environment.
Oshiomhole informed party chieftains and members to yield to the wise words of President Buhari who had advised all aggrieved party members to set aside their differences for the victory of the party come 2023.
The stakeholders meeting had in attendance then deputy governor, Chief Lucky Imasuen.
Also in attendance were former Edo State deputy governor, Dr. Pius Odubu; some members of the National Assembly, including, Hon. Peter Akapatason, Dennis Idahosa, Patrick Aisowieren and members of the state’s executive committee, among other stakeholders
