The Chairman of the South East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi on Sunday read a riot act to suspected thugs, criminals, especially as the 2023 general election approaches.

The governor, equally spoke on his Appeal Court judgement reversal, revealing that he ran to the altar of God in prayers, after his sack by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Umahi made this known while addressing stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during a Thanksgiving service that took place at the new Government House Chapel, Centenary City, Abakaliki.

He described the Appeal Court judgement reversal as an answered prayer from God’s altar.

Recall that Umahi and his deputy, Eric Kelechi Igwe were sacked by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the federal court for defecting to the APC.

According to him: “I ran to the altar in prayers after the first judgement and God answered my petition with a counter judgement which gave the victory.

“When the lower court asked us to leave, we came here and prayed to God but now that higher court has ruled that we should stay, are we not supposed to come and thank Him?” He said.

The governor, however, tasked all suspected miscreants and criminal elements to immediately vacate the southeast region, saying that the zone would soon become uninhabitable for them. “Enough is enough”, Umahi declared.
