2024: “I’ll Beat Obaseki’s Record Within 6 Months”, Says Edo APC Governorship Candidate

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 21 election, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, has lamented the decay of infrastructure in the state, dating back to when Governor Godwin Obaseki was voted as governor. He confidently declared, “I will surpass Obaseki’s 8-year record within 6 months.”

Speaking to a mammoth crowd in his hometown yesterday to commence a thank-you tour of the state for emerging as the candidate of his party at the primary election, Senator Okpebholo said, “This is a clear message to Edo people and a clear message to Esan people that the first one that came from Lagos that was voted for the past 8 years, the money that belongs to Edo people was never used for Edo.”

“Now it’s time to face development – in the next four years by the grace of God, Edo will receive tremendous transformation. Within six months, we will surpass their record for eight years,” he assured.

Continuing, he remarked, “I was coming just now, I saw the condition of a school, I shook my head; it was an eyesore. I don’t want to talk too much, but I want you to put it in your mind that this governor that is coming now is truly an Edo man.”
