The APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called on the people of Ebele in Igueben Local Government Area to reject the PDP candidate in the upcoming Edo State gubernatorial election.
Speaking during the ward-to-ward rally in Ebele, Okpebholo emphasized the need for the people to support the APC and its vision for the development of Edo State.
He criticized the Obaseki administration for increasing the state’s debt to over ₦500 billion without any meaningful projects to show for it. Okpebholo promised to reconstruct the roads in Ebele, employ teachers in the state’s schools, and ensure that Edo’s resources are utilized for the development of the people.
The Director-General of the campaign, Senator Mathew Uroghide, highlighted the APC’s commitment to the Esan agenda. He stated that the party has given the Esan people a gubernatorial candidate after a long time out of government. Uroghide praised Okpebholo’s efforts in assisting the Esan people, including donating cash and vehicles to fight insecurity, constructing roads, building schools, and providing empowerment opportunities.
The deputy gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, challenged the people to assess the promises made by Governor Obaseki during his campaign and compare them to the actual projects delivered. He expressed his conviction that God has sent Okpebholo to deliver Edo State from the “wickedness” of the current administration.
The state woman leader, Mrs. Betty Okuebor, echoed Okpebholo’s sentiments, stating that it is crucial for the people to vote for a true Esan man as the next governor of Edo State.
Member representing Esan North East and Esan South West at the house of representative, Prince Odi Okojie, in his remarks, said the people of Edo State are tired of Governor Obaseki’s countless Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) without any tangible results. He expressed confidence that Okpebholo will wipe away the tears of the people.
