President and Founder, Pius Alile Coalition Initiative, PACI, Hon. Pius Alile, has pledged to sponsor two pupils selected by the school authorities of the two primary schools in Evbodobian Community, Iyoba Ward, Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
The quintessential philanthropist made the declaration on Tuesday 6th May in Evbodobian, when a delegation of staff and pupils came on a thank you visit to the APC National Women Leader and wife of Hon. Pius Alile, Dr. Mrs Mary Alile, for her series of contributions to the educational advancement of pupils and schools in the community, which is her place of origin and immediate political constituency.
In their remarks, the headmasters acknowledged Dr. Mary Alile’s constant provision of writing materials as well as uniforms to pupils of the schools. They said that they felt it was necessary to join her to celebrate at the opening of her newly built home in the village, and to express their appreciation for her kind gestures towards them.
Meanwhile, Hon. Pius Alile, who is acclaimed for his education support in the form of bursary and scholarship awards, said that he was moved by the presence of the pupils to extend his assistance towards the sponsorship of two pupils as soon as the school authorities presented them, right through their secondary and university education. It would be recalled that in commemoration of his birthday last year, Hon. Pius Alile gave out six million naira as bursary to students of tertiary institutions, which was a follow up to a similar gesture the year before.
On hand to witness the declaration were some APC big wigs at the state, local government and ward levels, including the APC State Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah, APC State Women Leader, Mrs Betty Okoebor, APC State Deputy Women Leader, Hajia Memunat Momodu, APC Orhionmwon Local Government Chairman, Mr. Julius Agbonze, Edo State Representative at the NDDC and Orhionmwon LGA Leader, Rt. Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, former NDDC Representative, Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue, among others.
