Nigeria coach, Jose Peseiro, has expressed confidence that his team can beat Guinea-Bissau 3-0 in the second leg of their Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier at the Estádio 24 de Setembro on Monday based on their overall performance in the first-leg on Friday.

Peseiro said this while speaking to reporters following Nigeria’s AFCON qualifier 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau at the Abuja National Stadium on Friday evening.

The Portuguese watched as Mama Balde’s first-half goal ensured Guinea-Bissau defeated the Super Eagles.

“We deserved much more because we created chances and pushed the opponent back and could have scored five, six goals. It happens in football,” Peseiro said after the game.

“If we put up the same performance like we did today, we can beat them 3-0 at their place because one team can’t always have good luck all the time. ”

The defeat against Guinea-Bissau means Nigeria now sit in second position in Group A with 6 points after three games.
