Aliyu Abubakar Audu is a Nigerian politician and an international Economic expert.

In 2023, he was appointed as the Special Assistant to the President — Public Affairs for Bola Tinubu’s administration.




Audu was born 18 October 1976 in Kogi state, Nigeria.



Audu moved to Kano where he started his early life and education he attended army day school.


Then to Jos where he did his primary and secondary education at Corona primary school and then to crescent international school Kano where he completed his secondary education.

His A- level examination under the University of Cambridge local examination syndicate secured him an entry in university of Hertfordshire United Kingdom (1996-99) he gained BA Honors in international economics.


Audu got his post graduate degree in international economic banking and finance from Cardiff University. He went to American university Washington to study PHD in Economics.



Audu completed his National Youth Service upon his return to Nigeria in 2003. He relocated to Bond Bank Lagos in 2004 to start a career as a senior executive trainee.


Up to his resignation in 2015, he held a number of jobs at the bank, including head of marketing, branch manager, and regional manager.

Audu contributes to social programs in Nigeria mostly on economic matters. He is a regular participant on economic debate in the country.


As a passionate man who needed to rescue his people from the current economic hardship, he ran for the office of the House of Representative in 2019 representing his federal constituency in the national Assembly which was unsuccessful due to irregularities in the election.

He holds various membership from British council to Nigerian Economic Association.
