Results from polling units have shown that a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Adegboyega Adefarati, has won the election into the Akoko Southeast/Akoko Southwest Federal Constituency.
Adefarati contested on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Other candidates of the APC whose victory has been assured are Hon Bunmi Tunji-Ojo for Akoko Northeast/Akoko Northwest Federal Constituency, a former Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, Barr. Jimoh Ibrahim and Adeniyi Adegbomire
