APC Crisis: NWC Chair Abdullahi Settles With Aggrieved Members

All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman Abdullahi Adamu has reconciled with aggrieved members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC). He apologised to them, it was learnt yesterday.

The chairman was accused by two vice chairmen – Salihu Lukman (Northwest and Isaacs Kekemeke (Southwest) of running a one-man show.

Adamu was allegedly dropping President Muhammadu Buhari’s name to blackmail other NWC members. He was also accused of not carrying the committee members along in before exercising the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) powers which were ceded to the NWC.

Salihu, in a letter dated May 27, 2022, and titled ‘Rebuilding APC: Need for new initiatives’, warned that the leadership of the NWC could snowball into oblivion like the previous administrations of Adams Oshiomhole and Mai Mala Buni.

But it was learnt that Adamu tendered an apology to the aggrieved NWC members during a meeting that lasted several hours yesterday.

Kekemeke reportedly confirmed that Adamu and the other NWC members have resolved their differences.

He was quoted as saying: “We are just coming from a meeting of the NWC with the chairman. I think we are beginning to understand ourselves (one another). I don’t want to go farther than that.”
