The People Must Lead

*Honestly, I recall that in 2018, I embarked on a quest to represent my people in Edo State House of Assembly. However, despite my personal zeal, commitment, determination, massive mobilization and general acceptance by the people, I was prevailed upon to suspend my aspiration and I respected the leadership of our great party APC. The rest of that story is well known to all and the rest as they say is history.*

Considering the consistent call of our people and my unquenchable enthusiasm to be the voice of the voiceless and contribute to the upliftment of our people, I continued with my aspiration in this political dispensation to fill the vacuum created by the widening gap between the government and my constituents.

Again, I have consulted and canvased the people, I have engaged in massive mobilization of the people across board, APC delegates and other stakeholders of our party, APC. The support has been uncommonly massive and highly encouraging.

I therefore use this medium to express my unreserved determination to be on the part of the people who have seen in me the capacity to represent them.

*Profoundly, I call on all my supporters and delegates to come out this day and participate in the primary election exercise of our party. I have not stepped down and I don’t intend to do so for posterity sake. In as much as I have always respected the stand of the Party and I still do, i am also committed to ensure that I do not succumb to any form of coersion or intimidation yet again. I shall pursue this aspiration to a logical conclusion and I shall be grateful to God for whatever He brings forth as the outcome of today’s primary election.*

*Thanks and God bless you all for your usual support and the trust you all have on me.*

*Signed*
*Hon Abibat Yakubu
