Dr Salisu S Umar, Rector Auchi Polytechnic has said the institution has Kick-starts open, distance and flexible e-Learning (ODFe-L)

Speaking, The Rector said that the world today is being shaped in very significant ways by technology in a manner that the need to creatively apply these technologies in teaching and learning has led to several institutions adopting them.

This has even created for the African scholar, the need to build capacity in a number of emerging disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and Management Information Systems etc.

It is against this backdrop that Auchi Polytechnic is leveraging on the opportunities made available by these technologies to enhance our capacity to deliver Teaching and Learning; to reach all parts of the globe, irrespective of the remoteness of locations.

Dr umar congratulate the Directorate of Open, Distance & Flexible e-learning Center (ODFe-L) ably led by Mr. Bayo Adedeji and his entire team for consistently pursuing our goal to kick start ODFe-L in Auchi Polytechnic.

He said Already, five (5) of our regular programmes (Mass Communication, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Administration and Accountancy) have been accredited with additional fourteen (14) undergoing various stages of accreditation by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for distance e-learning where our students will be awarded the Ordinary National Diploma and Higher National Diploma (HND) all accomplished through distance e-learning.

Our ODFe-L is by this set to admit students in the next academic session hence the ongoing training to fine tune our preparedness. We are also currently investing heavily in the needed technologies. Indeed, we are set to deliver teaching and learning by open and distance e-learning mode in Nigeria.

The very first Polytechnic to attempt this mode of teaching and learning in South-South Nigeria. We are resolute as an institution to make a difference.
