BENIN – The Benin Recreation Club witnessed a surge of excitement on January 7, 2024, as its members actively participated in a closely contested Annual General Meeting (AGM) to elect a new executive committee.
In a statement the newly elected Public Relations Officer, PRO of the club, Mr Edoko Wilson Edoko said, the elections, spanning from 12:00 PM to 8:45 PM, culminated in the inauguration of the newly elected executives following a solemn oath-taking ceremony.
Mr. Osayi Courage emerged victorious as the President, with Dr. Lemmy Russel securing the Vice-president position while Engr. Monday Edo claimed victory in the Warden position. Other notable appointments included Mr. Osamwonyi Egharevba as Social Secretary, Barr. Ivie Elema as Legal adviser and Mr. Edoko Wilson Edoko as the Public Relations Officer (PRO).
Edoko added that certain positions had uncontested candidates, resulting in Mr. Jaboro Oghenekevwe Peter becoming the General Secretary, Mr. Scott Aigbovia assuming the role of Financial Secretary, and Mr. Charles Osagie taking charge as Treasurer.
Preceding the elections, he said the Club convened its Annual General Meeting on January 6, 2024, where members gathered to deliberate on various matters concerning the Club’s future and operations. The vibrant participation and spirited election underscored the enthusiasm and commitment of the Benin Recreation Club community.
