BREAKING: APC To Conduct Fresh Primary [DETAILS]

The All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ondo State has agreed to conduct a fresh primary for aspirants in Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

It reached the agreement in a suit filed by an aggrieved aspirant, Victor Olusegun Ategbole, against the election of Adegboye Adefarati.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) published the name of Adefarati as the party’s candidate for Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency.

Adefarati was declared winner of the primary after it was moved from the St. Patrick’s Secondary School, Iwaro-Oka, Akoko South West Local Government Area to Akure, the state capital.

In the terms of settlement which became a judgment of the court, Ategbole and the defendants agreed to settle the suit out of court.

It was agreed between the Plaintiff and the Defendants that the suit should be discontinued in the interest of the APC.

The APC, in the settlement, agreed to within 7 days from the date of pronouncing the judgment, informed INEC of its readiness to conduct a fresh APC’s primary for the Akoko South-East and Akoko South West Federal Constituency at the approved St Patrick’s Secondary School, Iwaro-Olda, Akoko South West Local Government Area venue.

It said the APC should invite officials of INEC to monitor the proposed fresh primaries for Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency.
