BREAKING: Bandits Invade Katsina Community, Kill 9

 

Armed bandits stormed Danmusa town in the state’s Danmusa local government region, killing at least nine citizens.

A local told our publication that the criminals arrived in big numbers and started operating in the town around 8:00pm and continued for several hours.

He said the bandits killed nine people including a security operative and abducted and injured many others.

Another source in the town said two of the deceased victims were his neighbours, adding that the policeman who was killed during the house-to-house raid after they saw his uniform.

“We are currently preparing their bodies for funeral,” he said, adding that about seven people were also kidnapped.

There are suspicions that the attack might have been carried out to retaliate the killing of a bandits leader by members of the newly established community watch corps in the local government.

“There was a bandits kingpin close to Katsina village who boasted that he would eliminate the new community watch corps. They mobilized and killed him in the process.

“It was a few days a go, and that is why we strongly believe that his boys mobilized to carry out this attack,” he said
