[BREAKING] Edo North: PDP Grants Waiver To Senator Alimikhena To Contest 2023 Election

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party,( PDP) has reportedly approved the application of the Edo North senator, Chief Francis Alimikhena requesting for the party’s waiver to enable him to participate in 2023 general election under the platform of the people’s Democratic party [PDP].

AfemaiReporters recall that Senator Alimikhena had withdrawed from APC Edo north Senatorial primaries after resigning from the party.

However, source who plead Anonymous said the National Working Committee found that the Senator has satisfied the relevant provisions of the party’s Constitution particularly section 50(5)(b) (as amended in 2017) for granting of waiver.

AfemaiReporters gathered that Mrs Victoria Edelokun who is the candidate of Obaseki faction will step down for Senator Francis Alimikhena.

Recall that Governor Godwin Obaseki and the South-South Deputy National Vice-Chairman of the party, Chief and Dan Orbih, have been locked in a fierce supremacy battle for the soul of the PDP in the state that resulted to parallel primaries.

In Edo North, Hon. Pascal Ugbome, emerged the candidate of the Orbih’s faction while Mrs Victoria Edelokun won the ticket of Obaseki’s faction in the parallel primaries.
