The Standard Gazette gathered that Barr. Joshua Oseluanamen Anebokhae was kidnapped in the evening of Friday, 15 September, 2023, along Benin-Asaba road in Edo State.
A statement by the Chairman of the Benin Branch of NBA, made available via the Publicity Secreary, Festus Usiobaifo Esq., said, “The leadership of NBA are in smart touch with the Police and other relevant security agencies to ensure that the victim is released unhurt.”
Barr Anebokhae, an Almnus of Ambrose Alli University, and a member of the Nigerian Bar Association had worked with a past Chairman of the Benin Branch, “Lion Bar” in Benin City.
The statement encouraged everyone to keep him in prayers.
As of press time, the kidnappers are yet to call for ransom, a situation which has now heightened the tension among the lawyers, friends and families of the abducted lawyer.
