Following a court ruling prohibiting Julius Abure and three others from parading themselves as national officers of the Labour Party (LP), some members of the National Working Committee of the party (LP) led by the Deputy National Chairman of the party (South) Lamidi Apapa have taken over the party’s affairs.
The development occurred on Thursday during an emergency meeting of the LP National Working Committee (NWC) in Abuja.
Lamidi stated that he is now the party’s Acting National Chairman, while Saleh Lawan is the Acting National Secretary.
According to him, Abure and the three others must vacate the Federal High Court order restraining them before any further action can be taken against the party’s leadership.
The NWC meeting also re-instated Executive Council members from Ogun, Rivers, and Gombe states.
Lamidi also reinstated Eragbe Anslem as National Youth Leader and Yomi Arabambi as National Publicity Secretary during the meeting.
