The Chairman of Esan South East Local Government, Hon. Louis Imhandegbelo, along with his Chief Press Secretary and former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Godwin Obaseki, Mr. Manxear Ehibhiator, and several aides, have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.
This decision comes on the inauguration day of the newly sworn-in Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, representing the APC.
The council chairman and his team expressed their commitment to collaborate with the new administration, pledging to work in unity to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Esan South East.
In a congratulatory message published by Mr. Manxear Ehibhiator, Hon. Imhandegbelo emphasized his enthusiasm for a fruitful partnership with Governor Okpebholo as they embark on this new chapter.
Notably, Hon. Imhandegbelo’s defection marks a significant shift, as he chairs the local government of Dr. Asuerinme Ighodalo, former PDP candidate and now APC rival to the executive governor. This development further consolidates APC’s influence in the local government.
