BREAKING: See Final Results From Sokoto

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the winner of the election with 288,679 votes in Sokoto State.

He was closely followed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who polled 285,444 votes.

The results were announced by the State Collation Officer, Prof Kabiru Bala, at about 2.40 am at the state collation centre located at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters, Tangaza Road, Sokoto.

The candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, came third with 6,568 votes.

Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) came fourth with 1, 300 votes.

The results came from the entire 23 Local Government Areas of the State.

Bala said elections were cancelled in 471 polling units due to insecurity.
