Senator Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo State, was granted bail worth N500 million by a Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.
In a recent judgement, Justice Inyang Ekwo dismissed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) objection to Okorocha’s bail plea.
Justice Ekwo directed Okorocha to furnish a guarantee in the same amount who will sign.
The judge also granted bail to Anyim Nyerere Chinenye, Okorocha’s co-defendant, under the same terms as the EFCC’s previous administrative bail.
The trial is set to begin on November 7th.
