BREAKING: Wike Reacts To Supreme Court Ruling On Naira Swap Deadline

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has praised the Supreme Court for preventing the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from implementing the February 10 deadline for the phasing out of old N200, N500, and N1000 notes.

Wike made the remarks during the Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area, where he urged residents to keep their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in order to vote for PDP candidates at the state level.

He also praised the governments of the three states that filed the suit.

He stated that the Rivers State Government will join the suit against the Federal Government, noting that the state’s PDP is opposed to the policy.

The governor emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision demonstrated that the judiciary is the common man’s hope.
