Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has insisted that Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, will not feel complete at the Etihad until he wins the Champions League for the club.

Shearer said this on Tuesday as Man City defeated Real Madrid 4-3 in the Champions League semi-first leg tie.

Guardiola is aiming to reach the Champions League final for a second successive season.

Guardiola’s men lost 1-0 against Chelsea in the Champions League final last season.

And Shearer insists Guardiola himself will feel incomplete if he doesn’t lift the Champions League trophy.

“I don’t think Pep Guardiola will feel complete until he has won this competition with Manchester City,” Shearer told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“If they don’t, I think a tiny part of him will feel like he has missed out on something and not quite done what he had promised. This is the one he wants,” he said.
