The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the vacancy in the Presidential villa is for the party and its candidate, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar to win and lose if they fail to resolve the lingering crisis.

PDP BoT Chairman and former President of the Senate, Adolphus Wabara stated this while addressing members of the party organ in Abuja, Friday.

Recall that the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday said there is no vacancy for other political parties in the Presidential villa in 2023.

Wabara insisted that there is a vacancy for PDP’s Presidential candidate only.

He stated “there is a vacancy in the Presidential Villa and the only person that should occupy it is the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar. So the 2023 election is for us to win and lose if we are not united.

“There is no vote that is too small or not important, we need everybody and all votes to win, ” he added.

As the PDP BoT Chairman and leader of the organ’s special reconciliation committee to resolve the crisis in the party ahead of the 2023 elections, he said ” with this crisis, I know ego has been bruised on both sides.

He continued “our position is to advise as the conscience of the party. And we should be seen to be fair, bold, just and courageous in our activities to resolve this crisis so that everyone can be on board.

“If we do this well, it will take us to the Presidential Villa. So, our major concern is to come up with ways out of the crisis”.

In his remarks, the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu thanked the BoT special reconciliation committee for the work they are doing for the party and said the National Working Committee (NWC) under his leadership is determined that the party wins all elections in 2023.

He stated “we have one singular goal for the party. And that goal is to win all elections in 2023. The NWC is very determined to win the election. And since we came on board we have tried to unite the party.

“Inspite of the perceived crisis within the party, we have worked behind the scenes to resolve these issues.

“We also decided that since we have not been able to resolve all issues, we as a result of this commissioned the BoT special reconciliation committee to wade in and resolve the issues.

“Today they have completed their assignment, we hope this will help resolve all issues. Because we have only one desire, and that is that our party returns to power
