Kogi State-born Dauda Abdulfatai, who initiated a 200-hour ironing marathon to surpass Gareth Sander’s Guinness World Record (GWR) of 100 hours, has surprisingly ended his attempt after exceeding 142 hours of continuous ironing of clothes.
Dauda’s decision emanated from medical concerns and feedback from his support team.
Dauda had obtained approval via an e-mail from the Guinness World Records to commence the marathon last Wednesday at Ganaja Village, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Having surpassed 142 hours in the ironing marathon, Dauda not only exceeded U.K based Gareth Sanders’ 2015 record for a 100-hour ironing marathon but also ironed an impressive 2,249 garments during this noteworthy feat.
