COMMUNIQUE AT PDP EXPANDED MEETING HELD AT THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR LODGE, BENIN CITY.
Edo State PDP held expanded meeting today 6th March 2022 at Deputy Governor Lodge, in Benin City, during the meeting Governor Godwin Obaseki, call for peace and unity, he reassure the PDP leaders that he has no plan to move to any other political party, advice everyone to ignore the rumors going round on social media saying that he planning to decamp, said such a rumor should be seen as beer parlor talk . He said his plan is how to move Edo State forward by delivering dividends of democracy as promised during the Edo 2020 Governorship election. Further call on Edo Son’s and daughters, to join hands with his Government in order to move Edo State to a greater height. Governor Godwin Obaseki who was awarded Vanguard Man of the year, said the meeting is a celebration of new year get together with the PDP Stakeholders in the state. Governor Godwin Obaseki, told the people that the PDP National Chairman is expected to visit Edo State on Wednesday 9 March 2022.
Hon, Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi, PDP State Chairman, appeal to all PDP in Edo State to see the need of coming together as one big family under the Umbrella of our great party PDP in Edo State, saying that peace and unity is the only way to go. He said that he so much believed that there is no division in Edo State PDP saying all that has been happening is normal challenge usually face by any political party, he appeal to all aggrieved members to join hands with the state Chairman, LGA chairmen and all Ward Chairmen to move the party forward, to enable us win the forthcoming general election, said house divided against cannot stand as such PDP will remain united. He further advice all aspirants to spend wisely as they are carrying out their consultation ahead 2023 general election, said is very dangerous for an aspirants to spend what he or she can not write off if failed to click the party tickets.
Deputy Governor, Comr, Phillip Shaibu, make it known to the Governor saying that they are all tired and they are now running out patience, he said most of those that joined PDP alongside with him and Governor has not been accepted by most of the Legacy PDP members in the state, he appeal to all relevant stakeholders of the party should quickly do the needful at the right time by accommodating everyone as one big family under the Umbrella of PDP, he said if the needful is not done at the right time they shall take necessary steps to determine their political future.
The Senator representing Edo Central and South, Senator Clifford Odia and Senator Matthew also spoke in voice saying peace and unity is the only way to go, they both advice all PDP members in the state to drop politics hatred and join hands to move party and state government forward in Edo State, to brighter our future elections ahead 2023.
Hon, Lady Uwa Osunbor, Special Adviser to the Governor On Political matters, who spoke on behalf of Edo South Senatioral women, equally call for peace and unity in the party, she said PDP members in the state cannot continue to see themselves as enemies, as such all aggrieved members should quickly see the need of joining hands together in moving the PDP and Edo State Government to a greater height in the state, that her desire is to ensure all PDP members are united and win the forthcoming general election in the entire Senatorial District. She said we must all shunned politics of hatred and move on. She commended the Governor and state Chairman for their excellent role in ensuring that PDP come together as one big family.
PDP former National Woman Leader, wife of the current PDP National Chairman, who was also present in the meeting, call for peace and unity in Edo State PDP, saying we can not afford to lose Edo State again for the opposition party, said is very clear in PDP constitution that the governor of state remains as the number leader of any PDP state. She also corrected the governor saying what the party needs at the moment is a matter of integration not harmonization as said by the Governor. She further appeal to Deputy Governor Phillip Shaibu and his followers to not run out from patience as said by him, she assured everyone to expect a tremendous peace in Edo State PDP in no distance time.
Hon, Omololu Ojehomon, Commissioner for Security, who spoke on behalf of Edo North women also call for peace and unity in Edo State PDP, saying the time has come for us to live as one big family under the Umbrella of PDP saying all that has been happening is base of lack of trust.
Princess Golda Oribhabor, who spoke on behalf of Edo Central Senatioral women, also call for peace and unity in the party, saying we all must all agree to live as one big family under the Umbrella, as said by the state Chairman and her fellow women. She commended and thank the organizers of the expanded meeting.

Edo State must move forward.
