DG Edo Migration Agency High Chief Lucky Agazuma Visits NAPTIP to Foster Collaboration Against Human Trafficking

High Chief Lucky Agazuma, the Director General of the Edo Migration Agency, visited the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on Friday to enhance collaborative efforts in the fight against human trafficking.

Speaking, Agazuma emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with NAPTIP, highlighting that the agency was formerly known as the Edo State Task Force Against Human Trafficking before its evolution into the Edo Migration Agency.

As the inaugural director general of the new agency, Agazuma expressed his commitment to fostering a harmonious relationship with NAPTIP and commended the organization’s vital role in combating human trafficking. “When you witness a crime, it is crucial to report it; silence only perpetuates the issue,” he stated.

Mr. Aganran Ganiu Alao, the Benin zonal commander of NAPTIP, thanked Agazuma for his visit and reiterated the importance of working together.

He praised the governor for appointing Agazuma and emphasized the necessity of synergy between NAPTIP and the migration agency, particularly in areas such as arrests, investigations, public awareness campaigns, and intelligence sharing. “We are united in this fight,” he concluded.
