The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train continued its ward-to-ward visits in Igueben Local Government Area, with a stop in Ekpon community. Leading the charge was the APC gubernatorial candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who promise to transform the community.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the Director-General of the campaign, Senator Mathew Uroghide, described Okpebholo as a leader committed to the development of the people. He urged the people of Ekpon to vote for the APC candidates, who he described as hardworking in their respective zones.
The deputy gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, shared Okpebholo’s vision for the state. “What my principal went through while growing up, we will not want the people of Edo to experience,” he stated. Idahosa said Okpebholo will empower Edo youth, secure farmlands, reconstruct the Uromi-Agbor road with the help of the federal government, and renovate the healthcare facilities in Ekpon.
Senator Okpebholo, in his address, expressed gratitude to the people of Ekpon for their overwhelming support in the last election that made him a senator. “I have come again, please support me,” he pleaded. Okpebholo highlighted his achievements in the Senate, including securing the federal government’s commitment to the Benin-Auchi road project. He vowed to solve the security challenges in Edo State and reconstruct the dilapidated Ekpon Grammar School, which was abandoned by the current governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Okpebholo further promised to build the Ekpon market, restore electricity, and provide portable water to the community. He emphasized that the people of Ekpon will witness tangible evidence of their support for him as governor.
The APC campaign’s visit to Ekpon is part of its continued engagement with the people of Edo State, as the party seeks to articulate its vision for the state’s development and secure the people’s trust ahead of Edo state election.
