The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo, is everyhere in Edo State engaging the citizens on daily basis. He has brought zest, fervour, enthusiasm, passion and excitement to politics and electioneering in Edo State. Over the moments, the citizens of Edo State are literally amused about his immediate impact on the political thinking in the state as he has deliberately upped the ante from where he met it.
Asue’s air of conducted shrewdness is all about merit he has known all his life. His success story is becoming a motivation for younger generation, shapening their political thinking away from the parochial thinking where it was once thought you must depend on politics to be successful.
While he goes about meeting the citizens ahead of the election sharing his vast experience in the corperate world, which has made him the cynosure of all eyes, his opponents are busy behind without success trying to tie unfitting aprons around him from the percieved sins of others. Even as at this, he has always been maintaining that humane symplicity in his face and smile – nothing seems to ruffle him. His is one of those remarkably well self-made men.
Asue has in speaking, the tone of a well brought up man, cultivated. It is very uncommon to get the kind of good talk you get from him when you engage average politicians – he is not only an engaging talker, he is enchanting. He has that rare, certain, fortunate, brilliant exceptional spark in him – that air of happy temperament fertilized by a high civilization – which makes almost all the opposition envy him. He is the most talked about candidate because he has brought a new thinking into the political equation in Edo State. His drive is the solution-driven version. He is unmistakebly distinguished from the ways of others in the gubernatorial race. His love for knowledge has a fertilizing quality and creative imagination is strong. His immediate political impact cannot be discounted. Edo State, no doubt, will be better for it.
