There is a worrisome development from Edo State as an Urhobo man has beaten his Benin Wife to death.
The incident occurred at Anigboro street in Uselu quarters of Benin City, yesterday night.
According to an eyewitness report, the man popularly known as Papa Foma who is fond of always beating his wife to stupor finally killed her yesterday after a horrendous reign of blows on her.
The unfortunate incident occurred at the victim’s house after the couple arrived from a burial ceremony.
The man confronted the wife to provide the money that she was sprayed at the ceremony they both attended. The argument occurred in the kitchen, the deceased wife told the husband that the money was in the sitting room and not on her person.
The Husband in a fury of rage was alleged to have descended on the wife with heavy blows accusing her of hiding the money away from him.
He continued beating her till she passed out and collapsed.
Immediately neighbours rushed her to UBTH where she was confirmed dead, thereafter they took her to three other hospitals that also confirmed the death of his wife.
Presently the youths have deposited the corpse in the man’s house and are already spoiling for war. The accused however has been arrested and presently at the police station facing interrogations.
