Edo Guber: Attacking Our Members Wont Stop APC’s Victory, Says Adams Oshiomhole

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said that PDP sending thugs to attack members and supporters of All Progressive Congress (APC) cannot prevent the party from winning the upcoming governorship election in Edo State.

Speaking at separate APC ward campaign rallies in Uokha and Otuo communities in Owan East local government, Oshiomhole recounted a series of incidents that have plagued the APC’s campaign. He claimed that the Esan West local government chairman had attacked APC supporters in Ekpoma, and that the party’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, was attacked at the Benin airport, leading to the death of a police officer.

Despite these challenges, Oshiomhole acknowledged that the massive transformation witnessed in the state is a result of the APC’s efforts. He questioned what the PDP has accomplished, accusing the party of looting the state’s resources without any meaningful development.

The APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, addressed the crowd, promising to provide them with fertilizers, mechanize farming, and improve healthcare. He also vowed to address the issue of insecurity and enable the people to move freely. Okpebholo further pledged to transform Edo into a construction site, building schools and employing over 5,000 teachers.

As the Edo State governorship election approaches, the battle lines have been drawn between the APC and the PDP. While the PDP appears to be facing challenges, the APC’s campaign seems to have gained momentum, leaving Asue Ighodalo to concede that the party’s supporters may not be able to stop the APC’s victory.
