Ahead of the Edo State governorship election, the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has randomly empowered hundreds of Benin residents with 50,000 naira each.
The empowerment exercise was carried out during a campaign rally organized by Dr. Paddy Emmanuel and the Deputy Director of the Youth and Students Committee, Chief Osahon Arundel, to sensitize the people on why they should support and vote for Senator Okpebholo.
The movement started from Uselu Shell, passing through the University of Benin main gate, Ekosodin, Adolor junction, Uselu market, Uwelu market, Ogidida market, Oba market, and ended at Computer Village on Airport Road on the first day. On the second day, the campaign train visited New Benin market, Oregbeni Market, Ekiosa market, Igun spare parts market, and ended at Lagos Street.
Speaking at different locations, the Ward 10 woman leader in Egor, Princess Faith Obozuwa, and Dr. Paddy Emmanuel said the APC candidate, Senator Okpebholo, feels the pains of the market women and encouraged them not to lose hope because the “Messiah” they have been waiting for is here.
They said Okpebholo will rebuild their markets, as it is unacceptable for the government to still be collecting huge revenue while the market women are struggling to make ends meet.
Presenting the cash of 50,000 naira, Dr. Paddy said Senator Okpebholo is an action man who matches his words with action and encouraged the beneficiaries to use the money to boost their businesses.
