Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Sept 21 election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has gifted N1m to a woman denied salary by Edo State Government for supporting the APC.
The beneficiary was also placed on a monthly stipend of N100 thousand by Okpebholo.
One of the campaign groups of the candidate, in a statement titled: ‘Time to Rescue Edo is Now’, said: “It’s obvious that a man with a good heart is seen and noticed amongst his people, far and wide with the activities of his kind gestures.
“Only those with kind hearts would be able to relate with what it means to be free.
“It was a great joy for Obaseki’s Government worker who was deprived of monthly salary because of her support for Monday Okpebholo since February to have received 1 million Naira today with the promised of N100,000 monthly stipend as a way to curb the infliction of Obaseki and the State Government in her life.
“This has been done to many people and still counting.
“He also placed two young artisans who wish to go back to school on scholarship. God bless the doer, Monday Okpebholo.
“While speaking with elated joy, the beneficiaries thanked the incoming Governor, Monday Okpebholo, saying that Edo will be great again.
“Indeed, liberation has come. Monday Okpebholo to the rescue.”
