Edo: Gunmen Kidnaps Father, Son At Benin Bypass

A businessman Mr Godwin Osakwe and his 17-year-old son have been kidnapped in Benin city, Edo State, Nigeria.

The two victims were kidnapped at the Ahor end of the Benin Bypass in Edo state.

Standard Gazette gathered that the victims were coming from the Oluku end of the Benin Bypass towards Benin- Auchi Road when they were kidnapped by the unknown gunmen.

The hoodlums opened fire the moment they saw their victim a mile away.

The sporadic gunshots forced him to stop as he was immediately accosted with his son and taken into the Bush.

The vicious armed men then abandoned his car on the roadside.

The car has since been recovered and kept in Ahor police station under Uhumwuode local government area of Edo state.

As of press time, the alleged kidnappers have already called the wife of the man, Mrs Augustina Osakwe, with the victim’s mobile phone to demand a ransom.

They are currently asking for three million naira (N3m) each for the victims, bringing their total financial request to six million. (N6m)

According to the wife, Mrs Augustina Osakwe,” l have gone round everywhere looking for money to drop as ransom, but it is very difficult. I have been begging the kidnappers not to hurt my husband and son”.

” I am still trying to raise the money for them”.

The police spoke person is yet to react to the incident
