Edo: How Kidnappers Break Into House, Abduct 11-year-old Boy In Akoko-Edo

An eleven-year-old boy has been kidnapped in Erhurhun Uneme in Akoko Edo local government area of Edo state.

The victim, who cannot be named due to his age, was kidnapped while asleep in his parents ‘house in the locality.

According to Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe gathered that the armed men broke into the house around 1.30 am on 19 July 2021.

The young boy was dragged from his bed and whisked away by the gunmen who shot sporadically to discourage an attempt for confrontation.

Residents said they ran into the nearest bush as they heard gunshots.

The kidnappers also snatched mobile phones and other valuables in the house.

SG gathered that the kidnappers had contacted the family for ransom.

Mr Job Okpeni, an eyewitness, told Standard Gazette, “The gunmen were three, and all wore masks.

“They fired gunshots many times, and it got us scared.

“We have no money for ransom as we pray they free the child unhurt”.

As of press time, 06:25 pm on Thursday 22 July 2021, the little boy is still in the kidnappers ‘den.

The police in Edo state is yet to comment on the incident.
