In Pt.1 of this piece, we made it clear that the good people of Akoko – Edo and Owan Clans are currently being put through processes where they are being ignored individually and collectively, relegated to the sidelines of political debates, social negotiation, economic bargaining and consciously being kept there (Marginalized) by the Etsako Axis of Edo North which is most unfair and unjustifiable to say the least.
It is a known fact World over that marginalized people are most often excluded in one area or another of social and economic development as can be attested to today in Akoko Edo and Owan East/ West LGAs by any sincere individual.
The essence of this piece is not to overflogg incontrovertible facts already presented in Pt 1 of this piece, but to passionately APPEAL to our Brothers, Sisters, Fathers, Mothers and Leaders of Etsako Descent to come back to reason by looking the way of the Owan/Akoko Edo Axis in recognition of the fact that they have enjoyed the privilege of having the Senatorial Slot for a longer period of time.
They should by this note for equity and fairness play the role of a good Brother by allowing the Senatorial slot move elsewhere in the overall interest of oneness.
This appeal goes out to ALL the Etsako Leaders to sincerely reciprocate the Owan and Akoko Edo gesture they enjoyed so far by supporting their Son or Daughter become the next Edo North Senator.
We also appeal to all Leaders of Owan and Akoko Edo Descent to rise up to the occasion by adding their voices to THIS call as they cannot afford to be complacent in this regard and at this time.
The good people of Akoko Edo and Owan do have many very qualified men and women that can give Edo North a sound representation come 2023 in the National Assembly. As at the last count, we had 5 eminently qualified personalities showing interest from both Owan and Akoko Edo LGAs on both the PDP and APC platforms. We see no reason why the Estako Axis should further deny us this opportunity and therefore appeal for their understanding to in good conscience help make this a reality as the Owan /Akoko Edo Axis has always done to them.
We look forward to seeing the Leaders of our great Party, PDP and other Leaders of Etsako Descent accord due recognition and regards to Chapter 7, Article 3(c) of the Party Constitution as Amended in 2017 which states;
“Adhering To The Policy Of Rotation And Zoning Of Party And Public Elective Offices In Pursuance Of The Principle Of Equity, Justice And Fairness”.
It is therefore only justifiable that come 2023, the Edo North Senate Seat should “Rotate” back to either Owan or Akoko Edo Clans.
