Edo State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of one Mr Uzoaku Onyemabi, aged 38, a staff of the Institute Of Construction Technology Uromi and one Miss Elizabeth Ayim, 24 years old, a student of the Institute.

The incident occurred on the 10th of March, 2021, along Ugboha Road, Uromi, Edo State.

A statement signed by the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bello Kontongs and obtained by Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe Said five armed men came out from a forest behind the school and kidnapped the two victims.

The statement said there are strong policy efforts to ensure that the victims are rescued unharmed.

The statement further disclosed that the Edo State Commissioner of Police Philip Ogbadu assured the victims’ family that the Command would do everything within its legitimate power to get them set the victims free.

“The school is located in an isolated area with a lot of tick forests around it”.

“He also enjoined members of the general public to cooperate with the Police by giving credible information that will expose those behind these heinous crimes”.

The Police promised to work with the public as policing is not only for the force but concerns everybody.

The Commissioner of Police further advised members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation as the Police Command under his watch is on top of the situation.
